If you answered yes to any of these questions then you might be a mindless eater. Mindless eating accounts for hundreds of extra calories each day. Learn to practice mindful eating by eating with all 5 of your senses: sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste. The next time you eat take a look at what you are eating, notice if your food has an aroma and when you bite into it take note of any sound it makes such as a crunch, when the food is in your mouth pay attention to how it feels as it moves over your tongue and then finally taste the food. By using your 5 senses when you eat you will value the food you are eating and find that you are satisfied on much less food.

3. Fill up without the calories. If you feel full your mind will not turn to thoughts of eating as quickly as when your hungry, therefore it is important when losing weight to maintain the sensation of fullness in your stomach. The best way to do this is to fill up on high-fiber foods such as vegetables which contain few calories yet provide a lot of bulk which leaves you feeling filled up. Drinking lots of water can also fill your stomach so aim to get 8 glasses in a day.
