Colon Cleansing– Does it Really Help You Lose Weight?

Popular opinion would have you believe that colon cleansing will help you lose weight fast and have the kind body you have always wanted.   It is pretty obvious that the effect of  eliminating years of junk from the colon walls can make your tummy much flatter, but besides that, how does it help you to lose weight?  After all, many people need to lose more than a few pounds, and their weight isn’t just in their stomachs.

While you will drop some pounds by removing the surplus of leftover toxic baggage, it is not immediate or direct fat loss — which is a more permanent solution. So, if you want to lose fat and are thinking about utilizing a colon cleanser, lets look at what happens during a colon cleanse.

1. Colon Cleansers get rid of toxins and extra waste.All this extra stuff is just sticking to the sides of your colon.   A build-up of toxins allows them to enter your bloodstream and be transported to other parts of your body. Through the bloodstream they find other bodily tissues to make a home in and this can cause your body to function less effciently.

2. You Feel an Increase in Energy - Many experts believe too many toxins in your body can be the cause of depression, lack of energy, and sluggishness.  By keeping yourself healthy, you can improve your overall energy levels, outlook and frame of mind.

3. You see a reduction in bloating and gas. Not only do you see a flatter tummy as a result, but gas and bloating can sometimes be painful. This helps significantly in the reduction of gas and indigestion.

4. Your body begins to work better for you. When your body functions more efficiently, whatever weight loss program you are on will also be more effective.  It’s like changing the oil in your car — it just runs better when it’s clean.  This is the key. Your body can function more efficiently and burn calories at an increased rate.

5. See An Improvement in Your Skin Texture and Tone. After going through the colon cleanse, I saw a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin. I am not the only one, either.  Clearing toxins from your body can lead to clearer and more vibrant skin when your body chemistry is on track.

6. Increased self-confidence. Aside from the obvious benefit of a nearly immediate visual improvement in your stomach, losing 5-10 pounds (or more) and flattening our tummies has a mental effect. This is true for anyone, whether you need to lose just that 5 pounds in your tummy, or whether you need to lose 100 pounds. Anytime you see a significant drop on the scale it motivates you to continue to your goal.

7. Helps Keep Your Colon Healthy. There has been an abundance of research and press lately about colon cancer and how processed foods and toxins may contribute to the problem.   I’m going to be frank here. If you are overweight, you probably have been eating a lot of the wrong foods over time (me included). If you get colon cancer, losing weight will be the last thing on your mind.

Whether you believe colon cleansing is all hype, or believe it can have a healing and positive effect on you, you may want to keep an open mind about colon cleansing and give it a try.
