There are so many eating tips for weight loss being thrown at you everyday that it is hard to know what works and what doesn’t. This article shares simplified eating tips for weight loss that have been shown to help you lose weight through research and real life examples. Follow these tips and you could reduce your calorie intake enough to lose a pound a week.

1. Shift your carbohydrates during the day. Think carbs in the morning and protein and vegetables at night. This simple shift creates an internal environment in your body that promotes fat burning and decreases your body’s ability to store fat.

2. Make your meals small and frequent. This way your body can use up all the calories for energy and doesn’t have left over calories that need to be stored as fat.

3. Add a salad to each meal. By simply adding a large side salad or other non-starchy vegetable to your lunch and dinner and eating it first you will naturally eat less and consume fewer calories yet you will feel fuller.

4. Stop drinking calories. If you are drinking calories you are adding a lot of unnecessary and non-filling calories to your day. Shift to water or other non-calorie drinks.

5. Stop eating before you overeat by clearing your palate. When you know in your head that you have eaten enough food you can still be tempted to keep eating. To avoid overeating clear your palate by drinking a glass of water or popping a sugar-free peppermint in your mouth.

If you follow these simple eating tips for weight loss you will save yourself up to 500 calories a day and allow your body to shed a pound a week without making major changes to your diet.
